Can I Use Facetime on PC?

Facetime is developed by Apple specifically to be used in its product such as iPhone, iPad and also MacBook. It allows users of Apple mobile devices to connect and communicate seamlessly with other users. It allows video calling via your contact email or also your mobile phone number. However, if you are wondering if Facetime can be install in your PC, unfortunately, Apple does not support any installation of Facetime on a PC. As any other Apple products, most of their software are proprietary and only let the product being used within Apple’s product and ecosystem.


This is one of Apple’s way in controlling and keeping its products under one close environment. It does not allow much freedom for integration with other outside system. Therefore the concept of Facetime on PC is not deemed by Apple as a specification that they would introduce in the near future. And if you also are wondering if you can use an emulator such as other Android Emulator in the market such as Youwave or Bluestack to emulate Facetime in your PC, it cannot be done at the moment. However, it is interesting to note that Apple has already come up with a PC version of iTunes. Therefore, it would not be surprising if somewhere in the future, Apple will be releasing Facetime version for the PCs. However, there are other good alternatives of video conferencing that is available in the market for the PC. One of the best alternatives are Skype. Another latest video conferencing software developed by Microsoft is Lync. So, you do not have to worry if you could not install Facetime on your PC. The alternatives are also good to go and worth trying.
